Peter Donohoe is
the Director and creative force behind Focus Fitness. Originally from
Dublin, Ireland, Peter came to Boston as a structural engineer, but in
1992 he was given an opportunity to pursue his passion for health, fitness,
and for helping others accomplish their goals. He accepted a position to open,
operate and transform a corporate health and fitness center in Andover, Massachusetts.
Already a lifelong competitor in track & field, Peter's athletic
career expanded when he left the corporate fitness world to compete
for Ireland in both the 1998 Nagano and 2002
Salt Lake City Winter Olympics on the Irish National bobsled team. After
the 2003 World Championships in Lake Placid, New York, he returned to Boston
with the intent to create Focus Fitness where he could pass on his experiences
by helping others realize their own "Inner Olympian".
A major part of Pete's Olympic training was maintaining a
balance of highly individual personal training with the goals
of the team as a whole. The combination of regular and consistent
core exercise supplemented with a more personalized training program
enabled Peter to achieve and maintain exceptional levels of
performance. As an individual, he found the training strategy
he adopted prepared him for the most arduous of physical and
mental challenges he encountered. It's these concepts he now
applies to Focus Fitness and its clients.
Today, Peter continues to coach and train International-caliber
athletes from Ireland and other nations. In addition to his coaching
commitments, Peter is also a member of the New England Health,
Racquet & SportSclub Association (NEHRSA) Health Club Owner's Round Table. (NEHRSA) Health Club Owner's Round Table, where members discuss and create the future of New England's Health Clubs.
